Socket Weld Reducing Coupling 1" × 2" ASTM A105 Class 3000, SW Reducing Coupling, High-Pressure Socket Weld Fitting, Forged Steel Socket Weld Coupling, Boiler Steel Coupling, Pipe Socket Reducer

Information

The 1" × 2" Socket Weld Reducing Coupling ASTM A105 Class 3000 belongs to the group of high-pressure Socket Weld fittings, where the pipe is inserted into the socket before welding. The welded socket creates a strong, leak-tight connection that ensures maximum safety and long service life in high-pressure piping systems.

The Socket Weld (SW) system provides a permanent welded joint and allows easy selection of fittings according to the required pressure rating. Each fitting is permanently marked with its size, material grade, heat number, and pressure class. All Socket Weld fittings are available with a 3.1 material certificate.

Advantages

  • No pipe beveling required before welding
  • Easy and reliable installation
  • Permanent leak-tight welded connection
  • Alternative to threaded fittings
  • High mechanical strength
  • Manufactured according to ANSI B16.11
  • Pressure class: Class 3000 (206 bar)
  • 3.1 material certificate available on request

Material

ASTM A105 is a forged carbon steel widely used for pressure piping components and Socket Weld fittings. It provides excellent mechanical strength, good machinability, and excellent weldability, making it suitable for ambient and elevated-temperature pressure service.

Typical applications include oil and gas pipelines, petrochemical plants, power stations, pressure vessels, and industrial process systems.

Equivalent or similar material grades include:

  • 1.0460
  • C22.8
  • P245GH
  • P265GH
  • P285GH

Marking

Each fitting is permanently marked with:

  • Size
  • Material grade
  • Heat number
  • Pressure class
  • Thread designation (where applicable)

All markings comply with the applicable industry standards.

Applications

Industrial installations, steel mills, marine industry, refineries, boilers, high-pressure piping systems, petrochemical plants, oil & gas industry, and power generation.
