Socket Weld (SW) fittings belong to the group of high-pressure fittings in which the pipe is welded into a socket. The welded socket creates a leak-tight piping system. The Socket Weld (SW) system ensures safety, durability and permanent joint integrity. Socket Weld fittings make it easy to select the correct pressure class. Every fitting is marked with the size, material grade, heat number and pressure class. All SW fittings are available with a 3.1 certificate.

A105 is a carbon steel commonly used for piping components, flanges and fittings. This carbon steel grade is intended for pressure systems operating at ambient and elevated temperatures. It offers good machinability, as with other low-alloy steels, and excellent weldability.

There are limitations on the use of A105. Forgings manufactured from A105 should not exceed 4540 kg. Heavier forgings are manufactured according to ASTM A266.

This material is commonly used for Socket Weld fittings, elbows, tees, couplings, unions, flanges and other piping components.

Applications: oil and gas transmission, petrochemical plants, power stations and similar industrial installations.
