Information

NBR - is an oil resistant plate made of vulcanized rubber compound, also called oil resistant or simply oil rubber due to the fact that they are resistant to grease and mineral oils. It will undoubtedly find use in the automotive or machinery industry, no doubt also in the home garage. Used for gaskets and O-rings, tires, inner tubes, bumpers, hoses for liquid fuels and oils, automotive....

Another name for the NBR rubber from which the 2 1/2'' camlock connector gasket is made is acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, while in English it is nitril butadiene rubber.

It is noteworthy that NBR has good resistance to oils, greases, hydraulic fluids and aliphatic hydrocarbons and therefore, responds well under conditions of use of propane, butane, alcohols, aqueous salt solutions. While it is not recommended for use in esters, glycol, benzene, chlorinated hydrocarbons

How to install the gasket?

Check if the gasket is the right size and material
Check the gasket in case of any damage
Check if the flanges are not warped
Remove any dirt from the surfaces of the flanges and fastening elements, i.e. screws, caps and washers
Align the flangers and screw holes
Center the gasket between the flanges. Carefully slip the gasket between the flanges.
Do not use sealing compounds.
Join the flanges, making sure that the gasket is not pinched or damaged too much.
