Information

KLINGERSIL C-4509 gasket is designed for high-temperature and high mechanical load applications. Reinforced with a steel wire mesh, it withstands high bolt compression forces. It is primarily intended for use in the chemical industry and offers improved blowout resistance.

Recommended media

Recommended for: alkaline media, steam, methanol, ammonia, benzene, gasoline, wet chlorine, ethane, ethylene, Freon 12, Freon 22, ethylene glycol.

Do not use with: aniline, cyclohexane, phenol, cresol, nitric acid (20%).

Test under operating conditions before use with: acetone, dry chlorine, chloroform.

Maximum operating temperature: 400°C

How to install the gasket

Check that the gasket is the correct size and material.
Inspect the gasket for damage.
Check that the flanges are not distorted.
Clean the flange faces and fastening components (bolts, nuts, and washers).
Align the flanges and bolt holes.
Carefully insert and centre the gasket between the flanges.
Do not use sealing compounds.
Tighten the flanges, ensuring that the gasket is not over-compressed or damaged.
