Information

The 1/2" Lap Joint Flange Class 150 manufactured from ASTM A105 carbon steel is designed for use with stub ends in piping systems built according to ASME B16.5. Lap Joint flanges are commonly used in installations that require frequent maintenance, inspection, or cleaning, allowing easy disassembly and reassembly of piping systems.

The loose flange rotates freely around the pipe, making it easier to align bolt holes during installation. Since the flange does not come into direct contact with the process medium, it can often be manufactured from carbon steel while the stub end is made from a corrosion-resistant material, providing a cost-effective solution.

Material

ASTM A105 is a forged carbon steel widely used for flanges, fittings, and pressure piping components. It offers excellent mechanical strength, good machinability, and excellent weldability, making it suitable for ambient and elevated-temperature pressure service.
