Information

Maintenance-free slide bearings SANKYO - Slide bushing SOBF 30x40x25 SANKYO - are made of very hard bronze (base material) and specially arranged inserts made of solid lubricant (graphite). Graphite is arranged so as to correspond to the travel direction. Basic material transfers the load and solid lubricant ensures lubrication for the whole working life of the bearing.

Graphite components should be able to lubricate slide surfaces made of bronze. A thin film (microns) of graphite is spread on the bronze during the rotation of the bearing. It means that a clearance is always required between two sliding surfaces to ensure the effective operation of bronze with graphite.

Maximum recommended operating temperature: 300°C (bearings are manufactured at temp. 1000 °C)
For operating temperatures above 100°C, it is required to ensure bigger clearance to compensate for thermal expansion.

Required maintenance is usually based on inspection of wear and tear from once per 6 months to 2 years, depending on operating time and load. It is recommended to lubricate parts after each disassembly. Do not remove the existing layer of solid grease. Continuous injection of grease is not required because the parts are maintenance-free if all requirements related to the application of bronze with solid grease are observed.

Machining:

SANKYO bronze is easy to work with. In general, there is no big difference between machining of our products and normal steel. No special tools are required but you should remember about the use of sharp and, preferably, new tools.

For HSS or carbide tools it is recommended to use cooling lubricants. For rough milling the machinery at a distance of approx. 0,3 mm as in the case of ordinary steel. During milling / rough milling you should apply a low rate of travel and low machining depth.
