Information

Sliding Plate VDI-13-SP2 Bronze with Graphite is manufactured from high-strength bronze with specially positioned solid graphite lubricant inserts. The graphite is arranged to match the direction of movement. The bronze carries the load, while the graphite provides continuous lubrication throughout the service life of the bearing.

The graphite inserts create a thin lubricating film on the bronze sliding surface during operation. Proper clearance between the sliding surfaces is essential to ensure effective lubrication and optimum performance.

Maximum recommended operating temperature: 300°C (the bearings are manufactured at approximately 1000°C).
At operating temperatures above 100°C, additional clearance should be provided to compensate for thermal expansion.

Maintenance

Maintenance generally consists of inspecting wear every 6 months to 2 years, depending on operating conditions and load. Re-lubrication after disassembly is recommended. Do not remove the existing solid lubricant layer. Continuous grease lubrication is not required, provided the bearing operates under the recommended conditions.

Machining

SANKYO bronze is easy to machine. Machining is similar to standard steel and requires no special tools, although sharp or new tools are recommended.

When using HSS or carbide tools, cooling lubricants are recommended.

Recommended cutting allowance: approx. 0.3 mm
Use a low feed rate and small cutting depth during rough machining.
