What is the Purpose of a Blind Flange?
The 3'' A105 150lb B16.5 BLIND flange is a fitting used in industrial installations to close the end of a pipe or tank. This flange is secured with bolts.
Blind flanges can also be used for conducting pressure tests, allowing verification for leaks. The number of bolt holes depends on the pressure rating for which they are designed.
The Blind flange can be bolted on with the designated bolts or welded permanently.
Steel grade A105 - is a carbon steel very often used in pipeline components and fittings. This grade of carbon steel is used in pressure installations at ambient and higher temperatures. It has good machinability, as with any low-alloy steel. Grade A105 is a well-weldable steel.
Application: grade used for transport of crude oil and gas, in petrochemical plants, power plants, pressure tanks etc.
