What is Ball Valve 1'' BSP 1000 WOG carbon steel?
WOG Valve is a ball valve (equivalently known as a ball cock) with a wide range of universal applications for media such as water, oils, and gas in industrial and municipal installations. WOG valves can be made from brass, carbon steel, or stainless steel, and it is common to find a combination of a brass or carbon steel body with a stainless steel ball.
WOG valves are used in hot water preparation systems, in industrial and residential boilers, in heat exchange systems, and in systems distributing water for heating purposes. They are also utilized in industrial cold water systems, booster stations, in systems delivering coolant or oils to various machines, in car washes, and in compressed air installations, such as compressors.
The operating pressure of a ball valve depends on the operating temperature of the valve. It should be read from the graph below, i.e.:
At an operating temperature of -20ºC, the valve will withstand a pressure of 1000 p.s.i., i.e. 69 bar
At an operating temperature of +40ºC, the valve will withstand a pressure of 1000 p.s.i., i.e. 69 bar
At an operating temperature of +100ºC, the valve will withstand a pressure of 600 p.s.i., i.e. 41.4 bar
At an operating temperature of +150ºC, the valve will withstand a pressure of 350 p.s.i., i.e. 24.13 bar
This model of ball valve is suitable for installations with high requirements. It withstands a wide range of temperatures. The PTFE (Teflon) seal ensures safe flow for most media.
