Information

The 3/4" Socket Weld Coupling ASTM A350 LF2 Class 3000 belongs to the group of high-pressure Socket Weld fittings, where the pipe is inserted into a recessed socket before welding. Once welded, the socket creates a strong, leak-tight connection, ensuring maximum safety and durability in pressure piping systems.

The Socket Weld (SW) design provides a permanent welded joint and makes selecting fittings according to pressure class straightforward. Each fitting is permanently marked with its size, material grade, heat number, and pressure class. All Socket Weld fittings are available with a 3.1 material certificate.

Advantages

  • No pipe beveling required before welding
  • Quick and easy installation
  • Permanent leak-tight welded joint
  • Alternative to threaded fittings
  • High mechanical strength
  • Manufactured according to ANSI B16.11
  • Pressure class: Class 3000 (206 bar)
  • 3.1 material certificate available on request

Material

ASTM A350 LF2 is a low-alloy forged steel developed for low-temperature service. It is widely used for forged fittings, flanges, valves, and pressure piping components operating in cold environments. The material offers excellent weldability, toughness, and impact resistance.

Suitable for service temperatures down to -50°F (LF2) and up to +350°C.

Equivalent or similar material grades include:

  • P355GH
  • P355NH
  • S355J2 (1.0570)
  • ASTM A333 Grade 2

Marking

Each fitting is permanently marked with:

  • Size
  • Material grade
  • Heat number
  • Pressure class
  • Thread designation (where applicable)

All markings comply with the applicable industry standards.

Applications

Industrial installations, steel mills, marine industry, refineries, boilers, petrochemical plants, pressure piping systems, and energy facilities.
