316L stainless steel is undoubtedly a very popular austenitic stainless steel with high corrosion resistance. It unquestionably offers excellent welding and forming properties. The steel was originally produced for the paper industry because it proved highly resistant to sulfur compounds used in paper processing. Due to its corrosion-resistant properties, austenitic 316 stainless steel is one of the most commonly used grades among corrosion-resistant steels. It is worth noting that this grade is superior to 304 / 304L stainless steel.
