There is no single material that is ideal for all applications. The choice depends on where the bushing operates, the load and the method of lubrication.

If we are talking about a motorcycle, the question is too general. RG7 is an excellent material for classic bearings and plain bushings in machinery, but I would not recommend it blindly for a motorcycle.

For example:

• swingarm bushing – aluminium bronzes or special sintered PTFE bushings are often used rather than RG7.

• connecting rod – definitely not RG7.

• suspension – bushings with self-lubricating coatings are often used.

• gear shift lever – RG7 can be a good choice.

• kickstarter, footrests – it can also work well.
