Silicone Gasket 77 × 67 × 3 mm Transparent is manufactured from solid silicone elastomer, a high-molecular material based on silicon atoms, providing excellent thermal, chemical, and mechanical properties.

Properties of Silicone

• Operating temperature range: -60°C to +250°C
• Non-flammable
• Retains its mechanical properties at both low and high temperatures
• Excellent elasticity and low compression set
• Waterproof
• Resistant to oxygen, ozone, and UV radiation

Silicone is suitable for food-contact and drinking water applications. Silicone sheets can be used as storage pads, transport pads, thermal barriers, or cut into custom gasket shapes.

Silicone materials are widely used in the pharmaceutical, distilling, and food processing industries, for example in mixers and kitchen equipment.

Silicone sheets, gaskets, hoses, and cords are also widely used in HVAC systems, ventilation equipment, dryers, and refrigeration systems.

Thanks to its excellent dielectric properties and flexibility, silicone is widely used in the electronics industry, including conductive silicone applications.

Limitations

• Although non-flammable, silicone begins to soften at approximately 300°C (depending on the grade).
• Not suitable for high compressive loads or very high pressures.
• Although flexible, it has limited tensile strength and is susceptible to tearing under dynamic loading.
• Silicone is permeable to gases under normal conditions, which may be either an advantage or a limitation depending on the application.
