Self-Lubricating Plain Bushing 25 × 35 × 50 mm SANKYO SOB is a maintenance-free plain bearing manufactured from high-strength bronze with strategically positioned solid graphite lubricant inserts. The graphite is arranged according to the direction of movement, ensuring continuous lubrication throughout the service life of the bearing.

The bronze body carries the load, while the graphite inserts create a thin lubricating film between the sliding surfaces, ensuring reliable operation without continuous lubrication.

Installation and Maintenance

For operating temperatures above 100°C, additional running clearance should be provided to compensate for thermal expansion.

Maintenance generally consists of checking wear every 6 months to 2 years, depending on operating conditions. Lubricating the mating parts after disassembly is recommended. Do not remove the existing graphite lubrication layer. Continuous grease lubrication is unnecessary when the bearing is used under the recommended operating conditions.

Machining

SANKYO bronze is easy to machine using conventional machining methods. No special tooling is required, although sharp cutting tools are recommended.

When using HSS or carbide tools, cooling lubricants are recommended. Machining parameters are generally similar to those used for standard carbon steel.
