Information

Steel grade 316Ti - is a stainless steel with the addition of titanium and also with a low carbon content. It can be used in highly corrosive areas. It is very similar to 316 steel in terms of chemical composition and mechanical properties. The addition of titanium is intended to reduce intergranular corrosion when heated in the temperature range of 425-815°C.

Steel 1.4571 has an average carbon content of 0.06%, chromium 17%, nickel 12%, molybdenum 2%, titanium - less than 1%.

Other name: AISI316Ti 1.4571. SS316Ti X6CrNiMoTi 17-12-2

Applications of steel 1.4571: food industry, brewing industry, means of transport, ship tanks, for storage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), potrochemical industry, petroleum industry, pulp and paper industry, mining industry.

Among the advantages of this grade is certainly that it is a non-magnetic steel with excellent ductility, impact strength, excellent weldability, good toughness, and has a wide operating temperature range.

Since the tapered thread (NPT) is formed by a helical cut on the outer or inner tapered surface, a tight connection is ensured without the need for additional sealing.

Undoubtedly, the advantage of compression fittings among which is the Screw-in fitting 1/4'' NPT for pipe 8mm, is that you can reuse them, with proper installation. On the other hand, if you remove them, make sure you reduce the pressure in the system.

How to install a compression fitting on a tube?

  1. Clean the tube from dirt and any burrs
  2. Slide the nut and the ring (barrel) onto the end of the tube
  3. Slide the tube into the socket of the fitting and turn the nut by hand
  4. Then tighten the nut with a wrench for 1 or 1 1/4 turns ( depending on the size). To do this, it is convenient to mark yourself a dot on the nut with a marker so that you can be sure that you are tightening the nut correctly. You can use a flat wrench or a frog to do this.
