Operating temperature range: -12°C to +100°C (operation outside this range may require additional lubrication).

Oil loss and additional lubrication

Avoid contact between the bushing and absorbent materials to prevent oil loss. Store bushings in sealed plastic packaging. Additional lubrication is normally not required but may be beneficial under severe operating conditions. This can be achieved by immersing the bushing in oil heated to 80°C and leaving it until the oil cools.

Recommended shafts

Sintered bronze bushings are recommended for use with hardened shafts or shafts with a high-quality surface finish. When used with stainless steel shafts, the shaft surface should be polished or chrome-plated to minimise abrasive wear. Recommended shaft tolerance: h6–h9, depending on the bushing E7 tolerance.

Further machining

Any additional machining should be carried out using K20 carbide or diamond-tipped tools.

• Cutting speed: 100–150 m/min

The bearing surface must not be ground or cut, as this will clog the pores of the material that are essential for self-lubrication.

For very high loads, temperatures, or speeds, additional lubrication may be required.
