🔩 What Is the Difference Between A105 and A105 HDG Steel ?

✅ A105 – is carbon steel intended for the production of pressure components such as threaded fittings, flanges or valves.

✅ A105 HDG – is exactly the same ASTM A105 steel, but additionally hot-dip galvanized (HDG – Hot Dip Galvanized).

What does hot-dip galvanizing provide?

✔️ significantly better protection against corrosion,

✔️ longer service life of components,

✔️ possibility of use in humid environments and outdoors,

✔️ greater resistance to atmospheric conditions.

If the installation operates inside a building, standard A105 steel is often sufficient. However, in outdoor installations or those exposed to corrosion, A105 HDG is definitely more commonly selected.
