What media is TEMASIL NG sheet suitable for?

TEMASIL NG sheet is a gasket material with a wide range of applications. It can be used, among others, for sealing installations with:

water,
steam,
diesel fuel,
gasoline,
gas (gas installations).

Thanks to this, TEMASIL NG is an ideal choice as a universal sheet for flat gaskets in industrial plants, boiler rooms, heating, chemical and power installations.

TEMASIL NG gasket operating parameters – temperature and pressure

The selection of the appropriate gasket sheet should always take into account temperature, pressure and medium. TEMASIL NG is characterised by the following parameters:

Maximum operating temperature for steam: approx. +200°C
Continuous operating temperature: up to +250°C
Temporary (short-term) medium temperature: up to +400°C
Maximum operating pressure of the sheet: up to 10 MPa
Flat gaskets made from this sheet can be used up to approx. 63 bar

In practice, at very high pressures, spiral wound gaskets are often selected, however TEMASIL NG remains an excellent solution for a wide range of typical industrial applications.

Available thicknesses and formats of TEMASIL NG sheets

As standard, TEMASIL NG gasket sheet is available in the following format:

1500 x 1500 mm

The most commonly used gasket sheet thicknesses are:

1.5 mm – increasingly recommended in design documentation,
2.0 mm – standard in many applications,
3.0 mm – for applications requiring greater compensation of unevenness.

Based on these formats, we are able to cut practically any flat gasket in accordance with PN/EN/DIN/ASME standards or according to the customer's drawing.

Large TEMASIL NG flat gaskets – segmented, with wedge and puzzle joints

For very large flange diameters, a traditional one-piece format is often unavailable or very expensive. In such cases, segmented gaskets are used:

joined with wedges,
joined like puzzles (interlocking segments).

This technical solution makes it possible to avoid the need to order large-format gasket sheets (which are expensive and involve long waiting times), while maintaining appropriate connection tightness.

It is worth remembering that:

design offices do not always have up-to-date knowledge about the sheet formats available on the market,
sometimes the documentation specifies a "one-piece gasket", which significantly increases the cost – especially for large diameters.
