Threaded or Welded Coupling
A coupling is a fitting consisting of 3 parts. A threaded or welded coupling is used for quickly connecting and disconnecting hydraulic installations. Both the left and right parts of the coupling are used for connecting pipes, while the nut connects these elements.
What are the types of couplings?
Couplings can be low and high pressure, straight or angular. They can have two types of sealing: with a gasket or without a gasket, with a cone seal (metal-to-metal).
Low-pressure coupling max. 16 bar High-pressure coupling 206 bar
Couplings come with internal and external threads, as well as for welding, and can have different types of threads, including:
- BSP standard Polish
- BSPT conical
- NPT conical American
- For welding: socket weld (SW)
- For welding: butt weld (BW)

Couplings can be made from various materials: cast iron, brass, black steel, stainless steel, or PVC.
Other names: coupling, union, threaded connector, screw-on connector
When selecting couplings for an installation, we must consider the working pressure of the system, ensuring the wall thickness of the steel pipe or the welding fitting matches the coupling we wish to install. When choosing couplings, we must pay attention to the diameter and type of steel.
Couplings are used in many industries. Sometimes, an entire box of couplings (unions) needs to be ordered for the project, as shown in the picture below.
We offer a wide range of couplings in our offer. You can order them here >>
