Hello,
Today we will discuss PTFE gaskets – Polytetrafluoroethylene.
What is PTFE sealing?
PTFE is, in other words, a plastic material with a wide range of applications.
Polytetrafluoroethylene is also known in Poland by the name "tarflen."
Pure polytetrafluoroethylene melts at 327°C but exhibits a high viscosity that prevents processing typical for thermoplastics.
At around 260°C, it transitions from the crystalline phase to the liquid-crystalline phase, becoming transparent and relatively soft, but not liquid.
PTFE gasket properties:
Operating temperature: -230°C / +260°C
Hardness: approx. 55 Shore A
Due to its properties, PTFE is frequently used in installations where the medium consists of acid and alkali solutions.
In principle, PTFE gaskets are used wherever high chemical resistance is required.

PTFE sealing is used as a sealing material for flange connections.
We use this material to produce gaskets.
The thicknesses of polytetrafluoroethylene used in gasket production are: 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 mm.
Gaskets can be made according to EN1514-1 or ASME B16.20 standards.
Flat gaskets TYPE TG for flanges with projections and grooves according to PN-86/H-74374/03
Flat gaskets TYPE SR for flanges with projections and recesses according to PN-86/H-74374/04
Flat gaskets TYPE IBC for flanges with thickened faces according to PN-86/H-74374/02
What can we use PTFE material for?
We make custom PTFE gaskets according to customer drawings or technical documentation.
An example can also be sliding strips, which perform excellently.
This material is also used to produce sliding bushings.
We can manufacture both straight and flange bushings from PTFE rods in a wide range of sizes.
You can order gaskets for any pressure, of any shape and thickness.
I encourage you to send inquiries for gaskets or their components according to your drawing or technical documentation.
